What the?!?!?!

Champions' League Final 2005

AC Milan 3-3p Liverpool (3-2 on pen a.e.t.)

Amazing. Unbelievable. Crazy. What can i say man?? Liverpool have really done it and i still don't believe it up to now. That said though, this bunch of players really deserved it after fighting tooth and nail despite going down 3-0 at half time and written off as confirmed no hopers at the finishing line.

6 minutes of insanity (from both Milan AND Liverpool players) saw goals from Gerrard, Smicer and Alonso which brought the Liverpudlians back from the dead and weather the Milanese storm up till full time and extra time to finally win it on penalties... (argh... i still get shivers when i think of spot-kicks...). Congrats to all my Liverpool friends out there, this is truly your moment of glory and you all deserve to bask in it.... even if the bragging rights will kill me for the coming season... Fug.

To my soccer buddies Joe and Ali in Istanbul now, you must be having a whale of a time... do remember to come back down to earth and join us in mortal SPANS footy yet again k?

Best quips from last night's match at Stan's place:

"You should call yourself Teo Milan! (Zhang Mei Lan in chinese...)"
- Lih Soon, on Peiwen's stunning resemblance to Baros.

"Look at the size of Gerrard's d*ck!!"
- Qunwei, obviously concentrating on the wrong balls on screen.

"I think i'm going home at half time...."
- Lih Soon, after Crespo made it 3.

"Continue with mahjong leh...."
- William the wuss, at half time.

"Those cup noodles can be used for defending too..."
- Chris, convincing Qunwei of his lucky charm's qualities after they brought him 3 goals.

"Right-back? Sounds like a balance sheet adjustment...."
- Peiwen (or Milan), on my comment on Gerrard taking Finnan's role.

"It wasn't a double-save it was a SAVE and a WHACK!"
- GYC, on Dudek's... err... double-save?

"My God, he did a Zhanwen..."
- Tim, on Serginho's penalty miss.

Yet again, i must stress... i can't believe it.
