Sheer Super Sized Stoopidity!!

You can never tell how a day will turn out, no matter how much you've planned for it. I'm saying this coz the Orange Team soccer match scheduled this morning... or maybe yesterday morning... was cancelled and Seh Guan forgot to tell me. Ah well... at least i got to stay at home and spend real quality time with Sharon. Amazingly i helped out quite a bit in making the potato salad for the potluck! I helped with peeling the potatoes, chopping the ham and pineapples and... well... assisted Sharon whenever she needed it. End product was a powerly power specialty potato salad which i knew everyone would wan a bite of in the evening! After preparations we spent our afternoon watching The Truman Show DVD... one of my favorite shows and evidently one of Sharon's too.

In the evening then, we set off to John's place after sending my parents to church (which i haven't gone to yet this week!!). Needed quite a bit of help with directions from Ivan... which were kinda wrong anyway, but i got there in the end, as always! Early birds there were Ivan, Mel and Ailing. The few of us were thus the first to start on the satay and the fried rice "prepared" by John... together with the championship belachan chilli!!! The rest filtered in about an hour later and we had a good time catching up while eating. Sure enough Sharon's potato salad was a favorite, but my Ben & Jerry's were a great way to cap the night of eating too! After all this though, there wasn't much to do but watch TV, and Wen came up with the brilliant idea of watching Super Size Me! It was off to Great World then.....

Super Size Me was a documentary, which reminded me alot of the previous docu which i caught on cinema, Bowling For Columbine, which was nothing less than brilliant. Think most of you know the story by now, about the director dude who ate nothing but Macs for 30 days and putting on weight together with lotsa health problems along the way. Made for interesting watching although the talking and interviews would kinda get to you since its already past midnight. Also, this was a very one-sided docu which only focused on all the bad points of Macs and i guess it got its point across and you'll see a bit of a change in many of our eating habits. For myself though i dun really think i'll be THAT affected. Sure i'd probably pass on 1 or 2 extra McSpicys or McChickens... but still i'll go there every once in a while.. even if its just for my 25 cts ice cream cone.

Tim's Movie Rating - Super Size Me ====> 3/5
Watchable movie with a few good moments in between. In the end it's still a documentary only though.
