Believe in Charity...

Haiz.. what a lousy Charity Shield... waited 3 months to see United in action again and they were outplayed by Arsenal today.... Starting of the game wasn't too bad, with both teams finding their touches, Arsenal being that little bit quicker in reacting, although United did get better as the half wore on. After half time though, the game sprang to life... a cheating 3 on 1 goal finished by World Cup Winner Gilberto put Arsenal in the lead and minutes later, Alan Smith finished with a beautiful volley that curled right into the net. Things were looking good then, until United's CHARITABLE defense let in 2 goals from schoolboy errors. Reyes (whom i must admit is looking WAAAAY better than last season) scored one while the 3rd was scored by... erm.... Silvestre. Told you they were charitable rite?

Plus points to take from this game... Alan Smithy is starting to look like he's been a Man U fan all his life.. seeing him run himself to the ground... didn't really expect such a spectacular goal from him though.. hope it wasn't a fluke! Scholesy looks better than what he was doing for England at Euro '04 and Giggsy still looks great... although i must say his hairstyle sugs. STILL, i dun like losing a game.. even if it's the Charity Shield.. kinda gives those anti-United guys lotsa ammo to fire... but the result is there for all to see. Now to look forward to Wednesday's Champs League game... i'll be outfield though.. shit..

MAMBO NIGHTS
Interestingly, there was a large article on Zouk's Mambo nights today. I'm sure those of you who know me also know how much i love going to Zouk rite.... haha... Not too bad an article, talking about how the Legacy of Zouk lives on after soooo many years.. and even classifies those regulars as Mambosexuals... now THAT's a word of the day. There was even a step-by-step guide on the moves to Belinda Carlisle's Summer Rain by the one and only Legend!! He's the dude who's always on the platform everytime i go to Zouk.. seemingly he's been there every night since he was 18!! (which makes it 9 years now... he's already 27...)

For myself though... why do i like going to Zouk? True enough... there are lotsa young kids there and i do feel old sometimes... but its the atmosphere and the music they play that i really love... Retro music consists of soooo many familiar tunes... sooo many of my favorites songs from years ago... and that's why i get this nostalgic feeling which gets me in the mood on the dance floor. It's all about having fun and enjoying myself whenever i'm there and at least i have kakis that agree with me on this!! The Mambo Fellowship: Jeremy, Cherlyn, Jessica, Lih Soon and me.... speaking of which it's been some time already... maybe i should go next week.. or the week after... or.... we'll see. :)
