Mr Bourne??

Oh yes!!! It's back to the weekend again!! This week passed by really quickly coz i was mostly on AT, TOIL and Snake Eating, so time just breezed by me... anyway i managed to catch quite a good movie today. The Bourne Supremacy which i watched at Great World... still think that THAT is the best place to spot good looking people, as most of the dudes and dudettes that hang around there dress really nice and are mostly babes and hunks.... (including Sharon and me of course...)

Ok ok about the movie, i must tell you first, i caught The Bourne Identity on DVD a few weeks back and i must say it had quite a good story but the movie felt abit flat. However, with all the good reviews i've read the past week, i decided to give the sequel a go. Where the first movie was about how Jason Bourne dealt with trying to find out who he was and why he was a target, this sequel goes a step further with Jason already understanding that he's an assassin and he uses these skills to his own advantage when the odds are stacked against him. The plot thickens here, because in the first movie Jason and his girlfriend were supposedly out of the CIA's reach, but inevitably somebody somewhere has found out where he is.

This second installment builds on the first with Matt Damon showing more of his hitman skills and specialties. This makes it a bit of a wonder to watch, although i wonder why people are comparing Bourne with Bond. If you ask me, Bourne is in a league of his own, and the reason why i like this movie is because it doesn't fall into the James-Bond-who'll-never-get-shot category of film. We get to see Bourne with real situations, real emotions and in real pain, which makes him alot easier to identify with than James Bond. The action here is great too, much better than the first i felt, especially the car chase scene which i'm sure alot of you all will like! Many of these scenes are reminiscent of Taxi (the French movie), and with lotsa wham bam bumper car action....

I must remind you though, that many of the scenes are Blair Witch style... shaky-camera effect, which on one hand lets you feel like you're part of the action but on the other hand, makes you feel a bit nauseous at times. Also, Sharon thinks that the show is a little too long, although i felt it was ok, save for a few fake endings at the end that DID make me tire out a teeny weeny bit.

All in all, i'd say it was a good movie to catch! Needs a fair bit of thinking but not too much to stress you out.. but mostly it's the espionage action that gets the adrenaline going...

"My name is Bourne. Jason Bourne."

Tim's Movie Rating - The Bourne Supremacy ====> 4/5
Jason Bourne. After he gets his identity in the first film, he now literally gets supremacy as he takes his enemies for a ride all around the world. Great action with a smart storyline for a spy flick. Matt Damon may not be the next Bond, but he's still the best Bourne.

Weekend Football
On a sadder note, my weekend may just burst in flames.... coz Starhub and ESPN have not settled their differences yet as of now. What this means is that if no agreement is reached as at tomorrow, no more EPL football will be shown on Cable... and this means i can kiss my weekend social life goodbye. Now THAT is pretty much a nightmare for me....

Why is this happening now? Why are us football fans the ones who might have to pay... when all this is only about money? Haiz... if only they were all as smart as a certain SOMEONE who mentioned this to Sharon: "Money is NOT important...."

Hoping and praying for weekend football then....
