Tim's Tip of The Week!

Tim's Tip of The Week:
"Never ever put your camera in your rear pouch when you go blading!!!"

Brought my camera to the airport yesterday to see Bingxiang off and was hoping to catch a few group pics before he made his leave. Found out to my dismay though, that my camera wasn't working... and when i closely inspected it and saw a HUGE dent where the lens was supposed to pop out from, i knew immediately when it died; last Saturday, when i fell on my ass while trying to pull off a spinerooney on blades...... argh.

So remember kids, no cameras in pouches whenever you go blading, no matter how SHEN you are!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

On a side note though, we all hope you have a great time working in Japan for the next 2 years Bingxiang!!! Dun forget to keep in touch, and as Weixing put it, you are his MAIN supply of porn liao. hahahaha.. good luck!!!

Happy Endings??

I've really been smitten recently by this song by Avril Lavigne... My Happy Ending. Never really been too big of an Avril Lavigne fan although i was quite ok with some of her previous songs, notably Complicated and Sk8terboi....

Anyway this song, My Happy Ending... some of you will remember from the ending of the 3rd episode of Smallville Season 4. This song delivers with her trademark rock style... and lyrics may be simple but they pretty much make sense and all these combined make this a really catchy song to listen to... one of my favorite drive tunes at the moment.....

Have you ever really wondered though, is there such a thing as a happy ending? Other than those that you read in stories and fairytales, could any ending really be happy? Personally i feel that the way your life pans out can only be determined by you, and you ALONE. All the decisions that you make, all the things you decide to do, the friends you make, all these lay the roads ahead for you, which may be smooth or rocky depending on your choices.

If you've got a good mix of all these, i'm pretty sure there'll be happy times ahead for you... but happy endings? I really don't know.. like i say, endings always mean that something has come an end.. a stop... so it's hard to envisage any ending being happy. I might be wrong however, but for me i always believe life is for you to lead now.. if you're not happy now, who's to say you will be in the future??

There is though, a Happy Ending for you guys out there reading the blog. Here's a great pic of Miss Lavigne herself... looking more and more "mature"... if you catch my drift. Hahah

Superman Lives....

Finally, after years of searching, Hollywood has settled on the next Superman.... and what a time to do so. Just a week after the passing of Superman himself, Christopher Reeve, a new face has come to show to the world that the spirit of Superman will never die!!

The new person, the new face, the new breath of fresh air in the Superman series, will be none other than Brandon Routh!!! "Who the HELL is he???" i hear you say.... but the fact is neither have I heard of him before!! I read up on his bios and found that he acted in never-heard-before series such as "One Life To Live" and "Undressed"... and yes i can tell you are as stumped as me.

Anyway on to the man himself, i've seen pictures of him and yes, i think he can pull off the Superman look. All he has to do now is to do justice to the Red and White suit and give Supes a new lease of life on screen. I'm pretty sure alot of people will be comparing him with Reeves of course, but i believe we should all let him do his stuff and not be too critical. After all, he was hand-picked by my absolute fave director Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, X-Men) so he can't possibly go too wrong.

I feel alot of good vibes about the upcoming movie already, since Singer has given us the lowdown on some of the key points in the movie (ie. continuation of Donner's films, the famous Superman theme being used again, great effects, etc...), so i'll be waiting in anticipation like the rest of you will be too!! You can read more about Singer's stuff on Ain't It Cool News......

Doggone it!!

Hmmm.... Isabelle's been around the house for almost a month already, and i'm sure alot of you are dying to find out how she's been yea? Well, for the most part, she's still acting like the baby that she is, inquisitive about almost everything, biting on anything that is remotely chewable (including electrical cables), hyperactive, and friendly with everyone. She's not very toilet trained though so we still the odd "accident" every once in a while, but other than that she's been mighty fine....

"Isabelle's impression of a furball" Posted by Hello

She still reminds me alot of Belle though and i still call her by that name without knowing it! It's pretty obvious they have different characters though... while Belle was strong and brash, Isabelle is pretty timid and seems slightly more passive. We all love having her around the house though, and it's great seeing my parents finally finding something to keep their minds off Batam!!!

========================================

During blading on Sunday, Lih Soon joined us (AMAZINGLY!!) and so did Elaine, who brought her cute li'l Jack Russell, Milo, along!! This was the first time i've seen him and i must say, i'm surprised at how tough and sizeable he is! Also, i know Jack Russells are never easy to maintain, but this little fellow was a total MONSTER the whole day!!!

"Milo in a.... compromising position between my legs..."

Besides being unable to sit for the whole car journey to East Coast, he literally went crazy once we stopped and he got off the car!!! Soon seemed to be dragged around and it was more of Milo taking him for a walk than the other way round.... what's more, he was going around peeing at every spot he felt worthy to call HIS OWN. Either he had a really bad bladder prob or he's aggressively marking his territory man....

What's more, i caught him trying to bully a tiny Silky Terrier!! Obviously he doesn't like to pick on dogs of his own size man... guess it's a Male thing.... maybe Lih Soon should start to pick up some of these finer points from Milo!!!

"Faceoff!!!"

I must say i had another great day blading though, and i'm sure alot of you know that many people bring their dogs over to ECP for walks. I've seen big ones, small ones, Great Danes, Chihuahuas, you name it i've seen it. Think i'll probably bring Isabelle down one of these days too, when i'm much much more confident with my blading first though. Almost died when Elaine handed me Milo's leash while i was on blades... hahahah.. in the meantime, i've got to brush up on my skills!!! Asian X-Games 2005 here i come!!!!!!!!!

"Nice dog... but NICER blades..." Posted by Hello

Updates...

Whoa.... almost 3 weeks since i last touched my blog. This can't be good can it??? Haha... guess i'll just have to update you on what's been goin' on so far....

Farewell Chalet
As some of you may know, 2 of my good friends from PwC, William and Hsin Hui, will be going to UK at the end of the month to do their CA and work in PwC London. Not to mention, they'll get the chance to fulfil my dream of going to Old Trafford, Theatre of Dreams!! Not sure how plausible this is though, knowing how dumdum William is over Liverpool.....

Anyway, last Saturday, we held a "surprise" chalet for William... since Bobo (his girlfriend) wanted to celebrate his birthday too. Now why does the word SURPRISE look so dodgy? Well seems like there was a leak somewhere (RIGHT Ian????) and he found out about the chalet the day before, spoiling our supposed surprise!! That said, he was still surprised that so many of us turned up, and i'm sure he must have been feeling pretty sad he'll be leaving us behind to slog here by ourselves!!!

"Farewell to Will and Hsin Hui" Posted by Hello

In all sincerity though, i really hope William and Hsin Hui do well over there in London, raking in the pounds and watching good authenthic football..... i'm sure they'll do us proud and finish the CA in 2 yrs instead of the supposed 3, and come back earlier than expected!! One wonders though.... how many of us would still be around?? Hmmm.....

Good Luck to you guys!!! I'm gonna miss your irritating presence during Sunday Soccer though!!

Sex is Zero??

Caught this really hilarious Korean movie today.... titled Sex is Zero!! It was highly recommended to me by John coz he caught it on his comp quite some time back and i decided to give it a go after his glowing reviews!

Anyway about the movie, as the title suggests it deals alot with SEX. The setting is very similar to what you might see in hostel life, just that i don't remember MY own hostel life being this raunchy, sexy and pretty much insane. In this movie we see lotsa guys in heat trying to chase girls, girls in heat trying to chase guys, lotsa humping and nudity in between, and even a nice little love story which made it quite watchable!

It really could have turned into a downer like American Pie but because of the many bouts of side-splitting humour involved, plus the lead actress Ha Ji Won (who's really quite the babe in this show), i'm quite sure a lot of you will enjoy watching this movie, especially guys... Girls though might find some scenes a little squirmish but generally it's a good show for laughs.

Tim's Movie Rating - Sex Is Zero ====> 3/5
Korean comedy with lots of jokes about horny teens and sex. All you youngsters will enjoy it coz it's worth a barrel of laughs. U do have to endure a little nonsense here and there (ie. slapstick humor) but the love story will keep your interest up in the movie. Of course as i mentioned, the lead actress did keep me occupied quite a bit too!!

Is it a Belle?

Got the shock of my life last Sunday when i came home late after soccer. There's a new member of the family again and her name's Isabelle.

"Belle reincarnated??"

She's a West Highland White Terrier and my sis finally decided to buy one for the family, especially since my parents were having a lot of free time on their hands recently. Isabelle here really brings back alot of memories of Belle though, as you can see from the face.... she's just as cute but not as "ROCK SOLID" as Soon once said of Belle. However, from what i've seen, she's very quiet and obedient, although she doesn get a little whiney like Yee Chung whenever she feels that we're not paying enough attention to her, and she bites alot of stuff (jeans, socks, etc) coz she's teething.

I feel that she's got a lot of love to give however, and it'll be interesting to see how we all cope with her, so soon after Belle's passing. Wait a minute... that was a year ago..... maybe it really is time to move on... and i'm sure we will with Isabelle. : )

My Ball's Bigger than yours!

Have you ever been lucky enough to find a nice soccer ball out in the streets? Well Jo and I did and i must say, this is quite a catch.

"Shooting practise"

Spotted the ball in Balestier when we were having our round of nightly soccer at the "Bernabeu" and we couldn't help but take some pics with it. The rest of these amazing pictures can be found on Jo's dumdum website. In the meantime, Just Do It, coz Impossible is Nothing. Not even the size of the ball.

What a Week!!!

Haiz... haven't been updating this blog recently, coz i've been insanely busy.. (and lazy to be honest.. haha)... but anyway, the past week has been full of activities and i've decided to let you all in on what's been goin' on so far in Tim's World....

Well last Sunday was the 5th straight weekend in the row i've gone blading... and if that doesn't put me in the Blade Addict category then i dunno what will. 3rd time i was using my own blades and i'm starting to get really used to it... so much so that i can go faster, smoother, turn better, and fall safer (yes more than once liao..) with these pair of K2s!!! During this blade session, we managed to round up quite a huge bunch of people to join us for an afternoon of relaxed blading!!

"Blading kakis!! (And 2 OOP cyclists....)"

Ok those on the left are obviously the bladers, but i managed to bump into Youxiang and Aiting too, and they followed us to Bedok Jetty just for this pic!! From the group though, i must stress that there was 2 people who were missing from the original Blade Bunch. David and his gf Mindy, who ran into some... erm.. ligament problems along the way.

While blading toward the Hawker Centre, and with all of us understandably focused on the Sugarcane Juice we couldn't wait to get our hands on, Mindy had a bad fall at a really steep slope which got us all worried. An initial worry that she dislocated her knee turned to laughter when she realised she could still bend her knees on her own, but it still felt weak and seemed to buckle everytime Mindy put her weight on the leg, and so we decided to play it safe and let David send her to the hospital.

It turns out now that she actually snapped her ligament that day, most probably from an initial dislocation before her knee popped back in place! She even went for surgery on Tuesday to have that part of her ligament removed. So much for laughing at her then.. hahaha... 2 weeks of MC for her then!!

"Ligament-less Mindy putting on a brave smile"

We did make a trip down to Mindy's place today to see how she was doing and i must say it was great to see she was still as cheery and hyper as ever! Sure she was limping a little but it wasn't dampening her spirits one bit.. i suspect its the MC that did the trick though.... hee... We watched Singapore Idol at her place and bitched about PwC people.. the best way to spend an evening!! It made us really happy though to see that she enjoyed her evening, coz i'm pretty sure it's kinda boring when u can't really walk and u have to stay at home all day. Anyway, for being such a brave girl Mindy, all of us Salute You!!!! : )

"Ok we've finally caught the culprit...."
