Sick of jerseys!!

What a lazy lazy day. Managed to watch my Man United win yesterday (something i've not seen for a few weeks already) but subsequently struggled to wake up for work. True enough i had an unexpected bout of Diarrhoea and yes... i got an MC for the day!

Decided not to waste my day though and made my way down to Queensway Shopping Centre to get the jerseys for the gals. Yes... don't ask me why but being the overall soccer captain, i had to pick something out for them!! Really damn stressful looking at all the different shapes (oooh) and sizes (aaah) and also kind of embarrassing, asking the sales staff for girls clothes.... especially since i think i can fit in some of em... argh...

Anyway, in the end i found a nice bright-red sleeveless top for them to use for the tourney this sat..... not too loud and not too revealing (oh well)... don't have any pics though coz i've passed em all to Belinda already!! Do hope my taste is good enough for them though... picking girls' clothes is mentally more draining than work itself....

However, i do have a pic of the guys' jerseys. I've had mixed reviews about it from my teammates but generally, most of em find it better than last year's seam-on-the-outside BLUE jerseys.

"If only we could wear this on Dress-Down Fridays..."

Yup doesn't look very common does it? I walked quite a few rounds in Queensway 2 weeks back and finally decided on this colour/design coz of a few reasons:

1. Unique Design
You don't see any of the EPL teams wearing something like this do you?

2. Red
Being the soccer captain, i get to choose my favorite colour. Woohoo!

3. Horizontal Stripes
To make me look fatter. Won't do the bigger size dudes in the team any good though.. like Kelvin and Rey... :P

4. Brand
Went for a household soccer brand name (Umbro) coz cannot lose face in front of the other teams with a miao-miao brand like UCAN (well i CAN'T).

5. Affordable
Cheap cheap... 36 bugs for the whole set including shorts and socks!

And so it is. PwC Soccer Team's official jersey for the 2005 Season. Do let me know what you think of it!

PS: Criticism is more than welcome... but do leave your name so i can punch you the next time i see you.

Why? Why? Why??

Why da hell am i put on job for the rest of the week even though everyone.. and i mean EVERYONE in office knows i am leaving in 2 weeks?

Is it coz they wanna tekan me? Is it coz i am good and they wanna squeeze me dry of my quality work for PwC? Is it coz my TIC is infatuated with me? Err... actually i don't think so for the latter... TIC is wacky manager Douglas Ong... the Brunei-an Brudder!!

Anyway i must say the work there is quite relaxed.. don't think i have much to do for the rest of the week so i'll see when i can.. erm... excuse myself...

************

On another note though, there's this really suave Pub/Club outside my my client's office. Damn cool and sleek walls and an almost invisible door right in front, with the name TOWEL CLUB. Douglas has been wondering why that place is so busy almost every afternoon and evening and after doing a google search, he's finally realised why. Click HERE to find out.... and be shocked just as i was.

Plus point is, i've finally found a place for Yee Chung and Lih Soon to frequent liao... here's your new place to party guys!! WOOHOO!! :P

Sunday Blues....

Ya you heard that right... Sunday Blues.... haiz...

Just came back from a birthday celebration for GYC (24/09) and Apple (25/09) and i must say it left a bittersweet feeling for me. It was great meeting up as a group again for occasions like these, even if the number of attendees is getting smaller and smaller each time. What's more, with Qunwei dressing up in his youngest attire, looking almost a decade younger, it really felt like we were a bunch of JC / University mates going out for a fun weekend!

The downside however, is that i find it hard to hide the fact that i'm leaving these close friends of mine in just little over a month's time, and that kinda gets me down quite a bit. I've already felt it some time ago but it gets increasingly obvious each time we meet up nowadays. I'm already mentally prepared to take the flight to the US already but yea... i know i'm really really REALLY gonna miss lots of people here....

"So whose birthday was it?"

I guess all i can do now is bear with it but as the day comes closer, i wonder how hard it's gonna hit me. For now though, i'll just try to keep myself mentally prepared. Already been trying to talk to some people whom i know are overseas to try and find out as much as i can about how life's gonna be like when i'm outta here.... If any of you do have some tips, do feel free to gimme a ring or an SMS, i'm always available man...

A Life-changing 2 Months...

Exactly 2 months since i updated my blog. TWO WHOLE MONTHS!!! Where could i have been? What could i have done? What might have happened??

Well.... all i can say is that in the past 2 months, i have experienced a few Life-Changing decisions. Yes... LIFE.... CHANGING.... DECISIONS. The decisions that pan out how the next chapter of your life is headed... the decisions that determine how you're gonna live your life in the coming months and years.... the decisions that can make or break a person...

Here's the lowdown for those of you unfortunate dudes who have been on the planet Mars:

LIFE-CHANGING DECISION No. 1

- Proposing to Sharon!! (9 August 2005)

Yup..... after a long and arduous (arduous for her or for me? hmmm...) 9-year relationship, i have given it long and careful thought and i am 110% sure that Sharon Tan is the one and only girl for me.

Nobody else out there is such a friend to me, such a soul-mate to me, and soon enough, such a wife to me. All i can say is there never was, there never is, and there never will be, anyone like her who treats me so well and can tahan all my crappy shit. For this and so much more Sharon, i would like to say, I Love YOU.... and i look forward to loving you for many many more years... :)
(sounds like a closing line of an email doesn't it?)

The ONE Ring... to rule them all. (them = me)

LIFE-CHANGING DECISION No. 2

- Travelling to Taiwan!!

Err... ok i'm not really sure how Life-changing a decision this is, but then again these are memories you keep for the rest of you life.... and you can tell people you've been to Taiwan, experienced a Typhoon and a 6.1-Richter Earthquake, and that you've tried the best JI PA (chicken cutlet) in the world.... Life Changing? I would think so....

Tim and Co in Taiwan...

PS. I would like to thank Chris and Peiwen for being great travel buddies. The trip wouldn't have been HALF as fun without you guys.... yes that's how crappy you all are. :P

LIFE-CHANGING DECISION No. 3

- Resigning from PwC. (12 Sept 2005)

Haiz. My time has finally come. Tendered my resignation on the 1st working day after coming back from my Taiwan Trip. It was a painful decision but one that i had to make and i don't regret doing so. I'm still serving my notice now so at least i still have the time to meet and mingle with all my colleagues.... no... rather, Friends... which i have made along the way.

These past 2 years have been one of the best times in my life.... with my baptism into the working world made all the more fun and bearable because of the people in PwC. It will never be the same feeling again no matter where i work and no matter where i go... all i can hope for now, is that we keep in touch by hook or by crook!

Back in the Good Ol' Days...

Thanks to all of you who are still in PwC, those who have left and those who are thinking of erm... leaving also... hahah... you guys are really the BEST!!!

===================================

LIFE-CHANGING DECISION No. 4

- Leaving my family and friends behind in Singapore....

For the benefit of those of you who don't know, this is related to Decision No. 3. I made the decision to leave PwC so that i can go overseas to work. It wasn't an easy decision either, thinking about my family and friends... the football and food... and lots lots more that i'll be leaving behind here.

However i have given it alot of consideration and i know this is the way i want to head and i know that my friends and family are supporting me in this decision. For this i would also like to thank them and i promise you, i will be back... and better than ever.

The last AGM in a long time for me?

For now though, it's time for me to say my goodbyes to everyone... so i hope i can get a chance to meet up with all of you guys before i leave.. on 7th November. In the meantime, let's make the most of the time we have!!
